Emergency and Wellness Pet Care: Clinica Veterinaria Barba

Heartfelt Quality Treatment

Tara A. Spears

It’s the rut season for the insidious garrobo, the Black Spiny Tail Iguana, and once again I need to rush my bleeding fur-baby to the vet. I was so rattled that I forgot the new address but a quick phone call got me there.

If ever you need a doctor with a calm, soothing bedside manner for your pet, Dr. Aldo Barba and his staff is my first choice. Once my little dog was treated, I was able to appreciate the new clinic. It’s spacious, attractive, and well designed. Dr. Aldo has always had a well-stocked office but the previous venue was so crowded you couldn’t see what was available.

Now, the clinic has a comfortable reception area, onsite laboratory, several exam rooms and more. The clinic is in downtown Penita, the second parallel street south of main street, in the middle of the block. It’s the same quality care from the heart just in a new package!

You can walk in any day but Sunday or call 322 148 9999 for an appointment or emergency care. As a full-service animal clinic, Barba’s provides wellness vaccinations, operations, travel documents and treatment of illnesses. Jaltemba Bay is fortunate to have a top-notch local vet who specializes in small animal care, Dr. Aldo Barba Hernandez.

Aldo was born and raised in La Penita. He attended the local schools and graduated from Conalep before going off to the University Autonoma de Nayarit in Tepic. Graduating with his veterinarian degree in 2011, Aldo returned home to set up his practice.

“I always loved animals as a child,” he said. “I knew that I wanted to spend my life helping those without a voice (animals). It is not a job for me, it is an opportunity to use my knowledge and training to prevent illness and relieve an animal’s pain.”

Aldo Barba is the “go to” vet for JBAR animal group. Just this year, Dr. Barba worked hard to sterilize, vaccinate, and provide medical and surgical treatments for animals in the area for Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue in between clinics. You will find him assisting the Canadian vets at the upcoming JBAR Spay/Neuter Clinic, March 14-17.

Because he lives here with his wife, two children, and extended family, he cares about the community. Besides volunteering at the spay-neuter clinic, he participates in other civic groups.

I trust Dr. Aldo to help my beloved fur baby stay healthy. Barba’s Veterinary Clinic not only provides pet related food and accessories, but he gives quality, loving care for your special friend. Thank you, Dr. Aldo and Adrián Rubrio!
