If you’re heading from Canada or the USA down to Guayabitos this winter, ideally in November or at the very beginning of January, please consider bringing along any of the following items:
– good quality glue sticks
– Scissors, including left-handed scissors
– Good quality colored craft paper
– manila tag
– Magnets, including magnetic clips
– Small whiteboards and whiteboard markers, erasers
– crayola brand crowns, pencil crayons and markers
– Mr. sketch chisel tip scented markers
– hilroy colored notebooks
– Good quality pencils (staedler, for example)
– Good quality pencil sharpeners (staedler)
– Rulers
– White and colored index cards
– Coloured post at notes in all sizes
– posted brand mini easel pads
– A few decent staplers with staples
– maps of Mexico, Canada or the world
– calendars for 2027
Anything with Canada printed on it or the Canadian flag: pencils, erasers, decks of cards, stickers, etc.If you’d like to contribute to the work that our volunteer group does at one of the local schools, but don’t have time or interest to volunteer yourself, bringing some of the supplies listed above is a great way to help out in the community! While some school supplies can be purchased locally, the more quality brand name products are difficult to find, and the teachers really appreciate when we bring these things with us.
We’ll be collecting your contributions at the little free library during office hours the first week of November and again the first week in January; any supplies we don’t use at the local School, we pass along to others in the community who take them where they are needed.
