Estero Beach, Ensenada: A Tranquil Escape on the Baja Coast
A Calm Beach Experience
Unlike the lively surf spots further north, Estero Beach is known for its tranquil waters and mellow vibe. The waves here are gentle, making it ideal for those looking to float, swim, or simply relax on the shore. The beach is rarely crowded, allowing for uninterrupted relaxation. It’s the perfect spot to kick back with a good book or take a leisurely stroll along the soft, sandy shore.
While the water might feel cool—similar to San Diego’s temperatures—it’s refreshing for swimming, especially on warm days. Many visitors enjoy snorkeling, diving, and sea kayaking, taking advantage of the calmer conditions. The nearby reefs attract a variety of marine life, including seals, sea lions, and dolphins, which can often be spotted from the beach.

Water Activities and Wildlife
Estero Beach’s calm waters make it a great spot for a variety of water sports. Snorkelers and divers will love exploring the local reefs, home to vibrant marine life. Dolphins are often spotted playing in the waves, adding to the charm of the beach.
If you’re more inclined to stay onshore, the beach is perfect for birdwatching, with many coastal birds making their home along the estuary.
